The remaining oil from the Deep Water Horizon catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico water is the equivalent of almost eight Exxon Valdez oil spills. Our government has allowed Corexit to be pumped into the disaster without limitation, allowing BP to literally get away with murder and covering up the actual cost and extent of their crime.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the “vast majority” of the 4.9 million barrels released into the Gulf has either evaporated “or been burned, skimmed, and recovered from the wellhead, or dispersed.”
After viewing the video, how likely do you feel that BP’s and NOAA’s statements are factual? How confident are you that this is OUR government, for the PEOPLE?
My family is from a small fishing community on the east coast. I know the impact that this would cause on the entire community and don’t have to be in Louisiana to understand the suffering. I know the potential for damage to our lives here along FL coasts as well. I also don’t need to be an M.D. to know that the health effects of this to our health and that of our entire eco system are extremely toxic and systemic. The media and the suits can try to gloss this over with pretty words and outright neglect, but the truth can be found in the voices of the people of the Gulf and surrounding communities.
